We No Longer Have The Early Bird Special. Get Over It.
Me: “Hey, guys. My name is Ryan. Just to let you know, we no longer have the Early Bird Special that we used to have. It’s now Terriyaki Beef and Chicken with rice, vegetables and noodles for $13.95 until 6pm.”
Woman: “But we came just for the Early Bird!”
Me: “You came just for the three dollars off every meal?”
Woman: “Yes! What would you say if I said we were going to leave this instant?”
Me: “Have a nice night?”
They ended up staying, ordering 100 bucks worth of food and tipping me 20 dollars. Eat it.

See what happens when you call their bluff? Power to the server!

Really? You really said that? At Red Lobster, we’d be drawn and quartered for speaking to a customer that way…

It helps when you only have a week left.

Way to go Ryan! More restaurant servers should be encouraged to call customers on their bullshit, especially these kinds of assholes. I’m glad for your asake you only have a week to go…hopefully your blog stays around for a while longer!

I don’t see a problem with what you said? I mean you DID say have a NICE night. I mean you could have said something much worse. Like “Shove the three dollars up your ass” or “Are you stupid”, but you handled it just like you should have. No bullshit, just honesty.
